TIMBER is a public interest group for working people in Troy, New York.
-
TIMBER helps unions, nonprofits, community groups, and businesses engage with the legislative issues that impact their work. For smaller groups, that work is donor-supported. For larger groups, we pitch in at affordable rates based on budgetary needs, mission alignment, and labor practices.
-
TIMBER advocates for institutions that are receptive to public participation and a citizenry prepared to offer it. To help restore a muscular civic tradition to Troy and the broader Capital Region, we offer leadership development opportunities that train community members to advocate for themselves and their neighbors.
-
We advocate for changes to public, private, and nonprofit institutions that make them more resilient, democratic, and accountable. We are specifically interested in helping organizations diversify revenue, value their workers, democratize their decision-making processes, and work to the benefit of the public.
